Commitment

Updated September 2021

Commitment refers to units being commited (which is on), or units not being commited (which is off). In Aurora, unit commitment logic applies to any generating units that cannot cycle (Non Cycling) or be turned on or off hourly.  They commit to operate for a certain amount of time based on their Min Up Time,  or stay off for a while based on their Min Down Time.

The following dialogs refer to the settings that apply to those units and what is considered when commitment setting are made for your model.

When selecting the type of commitment logic, and defining the settings for that commitment, there are two Commitment Types:

Traditional Commitment
