Description: | Start day for weekly constraints |
This setting controls the internal mapping of days to weeks across the simulation horizon. Thus it affects the definition of weeks for summary reporting, and the formulation of any weekly constraint e.g. weekly storage target or weekly energy constraint, and the week of the year time slice pattern.
Value | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
0 | automatic | Each week begins on the same day of week as the Date From of the simulation horizon. |
1 | Sunday | Weeks begin Sunday and end Saturday |
2 | Monday | Weeks begin Monday and end Sunday |
3 | Tuesday | Weeks begin Tuesday and end Monday |
4 | Wednesday | Weeks begin Wednesday and end Tuesday |
5 | Thursday | Weeks begin Thursday and end Wednesday |
6 | Friday | Weeks begin Friday and end Thursday |
7 | Saturday | Weeks begin Saturday and end Friday |
-1 | Month | The first day of each month is the start of a week and the weeks follow the patterns described below so that there are exactly 48 weeks in the year |
Week Beginning = "Month" is a special case that fits weeks into months and years exactly, avoiding the issue of weeks crossing monthly or annual boundaries. In this scheme the weeks begin according to the rules in the following table:
Days in Month | Weeks Begin |
---|---|
28, 29 | 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd |
30 | 1st, 8th, 16th, 23rd |
31 | 1st, 8th, 16th, 24th |
In this scheme weeks are not equal length making this scheme unsuitable for constraint modelling. It is provided primarily for compatibility with certain regional data input schemes in hydro dominated countries.
