Decision Variable Balancing Region From is designed to work along with the Decision Variable Balancing Region To membership to expose the Balancing Area Interchange between a single pair on regional interchange. Balancing Region From defines the "from" Region object of the pair.

When both Balancing Region From and Balancing Region To memberships are populated, Plexos will automatically add definition constraints that equate the economic interchange to the decision variable. Custom Constraints can then be placed on Decision Variable. This allows modeling market constraints, such as the MISO's Regional Directional Transfer constraint.

Example -

In the following setup, Decision Variable DV1 will be equal to Balancing Area Interchange from Region R1 to Region R2. Any custom constraint placed on DV1 will automatically apply to the Balancing Area Interchange as well.
