Project File Upgrade

Q:  How can I upgrade an earlier project to the new Aurora project format?

Starting in 14.1.1001, projects that were saved in previous versions of Aurora will need to be upgraded to the new project file format. When you open a project that was saved in 14.0 or previous versions, a message will pop up asking you to upgrade your project file. When you upgrade your project, a backup copy of the project in the old project format will be saved next to the project with “_backup” appended to. You will still be able to open the backup project file in any 14.0 or previous version of Aurora.

The upgraded project file can be opened in any 14.1 version of Aurora and in any 14.0 version of Aurora starting in 14.0.1012. However, if that project file is saved in the 14.0 version, it will be saved in the old project format, so you will have to upgrade it again it when opening it in 14.1.

Version 14.1.1001 and all future Aurora versions: Can only open projects that have been upgraded to the new project file format.

Version 14.0.1012 – Latest 14.0 version: Can open projects with the new project file format or the old project file format.  Will save projects in the old project file format.

Version 14.0.1001, Version 13, and all previous Aurora versions: Can only open projects in the old project file format.
