The optional Allow Partial Build column is used to determine whether a new resource build option can be partially built with less than full capacity. By default, new builds are either acquired at full capacity or not at all, but when this column is activated for a given new resource option, the optimization can choose the resource at any level between zero and full capacity.
Valid entries are:
FALSE or 0 - The decision for the resource is binary and can only be acquired at full capacity or not at all. (The default value if the column is missing or NULL/blank.)
TRUE or 1 - The resource may be considered as a fractional build in the solution.
Year (yyyy) - Enter the start year in which the partial builds may be considered. For example, an entry of 2025 would require all builds prior to that year to be full capacity, but anything in 2025 or later could be selected at less than full capacity.
yr_ reference - A reference to the Time Series Annual table using yr_to activate the logic in specific years.
After a long-term study has been run, the Capacity Share column in the resulting Resource Modifier table will be populated with the solution’s fractional build options. For example, if Aurora picks the unit at 60%, the RMT would have the original capacity but Capacity Share will be populated with 0.6.
NOTE: When using this column the count of new builds may exceed the Overall Max, but the sum of the Capacity Share values for all units built will be properly limited by the Overall Max. For example, if the Overall Max is 3, Aurora might build four units at 75% since 0.75*4 <= 3.
