This option produces a diagnostic file in XML format that lists the transmission elements whose post-contingency flows are at their limits during each contingency. This information is not available in the standard Contingency solution data.
In addition to the post-contingency flow report, a pre-contingency binding report is also added into this diagnostic file as a "base" case. It contains the congestion information on all the branches before any contingency case happens. It should be noted that only information of congested lines (lines with shadow price >0) will be written in the file.
Lastly, a separate contingency selection report will also be generated if Transmission Enforce N-1 Contingencies option is enabled. This report is designed to provide details of the 'high risk' contingencies. If any post-contingency flow is more than 85% of branch flow limit, the contingency case name and 'high risk' monitored lines will be printed. The printed list can be used to either narrow down the N-1 case number or form up N-x contingency cases.
