Description: | Length of rough running range (must be paired with Rough Running Point) |
A Generator Rough Running Range is a range of output levels that must be avoided. Typically these apply to hydro generators and are output levels that might cause cavitation in the turbines, though modeling rough running ranges is allowed on any unit type. Rough Running Point marks the start of a rough running range and Rough Running Range is the length of the range, both properties are in megawatts.
Rough running ranges are only modeled on single unit generators i.e. these properties will be ignored for multi-unit stations.
The rough running range properties are multi-band, so you can model more than one rough running range on a unit by setting the properties for each range on a different band.
Example:
Generator | Property | Band | Value | Units |
---|---|---|---|---|
Gen | Units | 1 | 1 | - |
Gen | Max Capacity | 1 | 300 | MW |
Gen | Min Stable Level | 1 | 15 | MW |
Gen | Rough Running Point | 1 | 200 | MW |
Gen | Rough Running Range | 1 | 25 | MW |
Gen | Rough Running Point | 2 | 270 | MW |
Gen | Rough Running Range | 2 | 25 | MW |
