Global Tree Period Type

Units:-
Mode:Input Only
Multi-band:False
Default Value:0
Validation Rule:In (0,1,2,3,4,5,6)
Key Property:No
Description:Scenario Tree: Period type for stage positions

Global Tree Period Type sets the period type for the Tree Stages Position argument. The setting can take these values:

Interval (value = 0)
Positions are in intervals, where an interval is defined by Horizon Periods per Day.
Day (value = 1)
Positions are in calendar days, where a days is defined by the Day Beginning.
Week (value = 2)
Positions are in weeks, where a week is defined by the Horizon Week Beginning.
Month (value = 3)
Positions are in calendar months.
Fiscal Year (value = 4)
Positions are in fiscal years where the year is defined by Horizon Year Ending.
Hour (value = 6)
Positions are in hours.

Example

In the following, a three-stage tree is defined where the first stage ends at week 3, the second at 4.

Table 1: Tree Period Type Example
Global Property Value Units Band
BinaryTree Tree Period Type Week (2) - 1
BinaryTree Tree Stages Position 3 - 1
BinaryTree Tree Stages Position 4 - 2
BinaryTree Tree Stages Leaves 2 - 1
BinaryTree Tree Stages Leaves 4 - 2

Notice that the Tree Period Type will affect the sample values. If this parameter is not set to Interval, the samples will be averaged in the provided Tree Period Type. When using Global Tree Stages Hanging Branches, only the weekly and monthly Tree Period Type are supported. Additionally, monthly tree is incompatible when ST phase is enabled, as the monthly stage future cost function derived from the prior phase will not align with any ST step type.
