The Number Of Segments column is used to define the precision level of the quadratic conversion function. The function is converted into a piecewise linear function, and the higher the number of segments used the more precise the relationship will be modeled. More segments increase the complexity of the problem for the solver, though, and typically the default of 10 segments is sufficient.
