Can Drop Resource Column
Column Type = Boolean

The Can Drop Resource column allows the user to restrict a unit's retirement during a long-term capacity expansion run. If the field is not set (blank) or marked FALSE or 0, the unit cannot be considered for long-term economic retirement in a long-term capacity expansion run. If the field is marked TRUE or 1, the resource can be considered for retirement at any time during a long-term capacity expansion study.

The Can Drop column is also available in the Resources table.  If a value of "FUEL" is used as input in the Resources table, whatever is specified in this column in the Fuel table will be used. Note that within the Resources table, the user also has the option of specifying a specific year for the model to consider the unit for economic retirement.

NOTE: The "Can Drop" feature should not be used in conjunction with the Resource Fixed feature. If the Can Drop column is selected, the Resource Fixed column should remain blank. Both the Can Drop, and Resource Fixed options allow the user to limit the economic retirement of resources within the system. Selecting both options in the Resources or Fuel tables will produce a warning message in the Status Window.
