Reliability Area Column (Optional)

This entry defines the Area to which the unit capability will contribute for purposes of reliability criteria when using the pool-based unit commitment option. This variable will only have an effect if using the operating pools option in a study, and the Reliability Area is defined to be a member of a pool that uses the pool commitment option, which includes reliability as a component in commitment decisions. In that case, the unit will be treated as part of the pool to which the Reliability Area belongs for unit commitment purposes, even if it physically exists in an area that is outside of the pool. The portion of the unit available to the pool is controlled through the Reliability Share column.
NOTE: This optional column is only used in conjunction with the reliability based pool commitment logic. Use of this column affects only the unit-commitment decision pattern, it will not affect how a unit runs once a commitment decision has been made and the unit is available for dispatch.
