Daily Start Limit Column
Column Type = Integer

The optional Daily Start Limit column is used to limit the number of starts a resource can have in a given day.  Valid inputs are non-negative integers.  The constraint works both with Commitment Optimization and Traditional Commitment, but in traditional commitment the constraint may be violated in the same way the minimum down time might be violated (i.e., the unit doesn’t get committed but the dispatch still turns it on using the non-commitment penalty). If the switch Enforce Minimum Down Times is selected, though, the limit will always be enforced and the unit will get 0 capability once the unit is decommitted and the start limit has already been reached.

NOTE: Inputs can be specified for any time period (annual, monthly, weekly, hourly or sub-hourly). For information on how to specify a time series for a variable, see Entering a Time Series.
