Zone Price Setter Column

Standard resources are allowed to set the zone price when running somewhere above minimum capacity and below maximum capacity. The optional Zone Price Setter column offers special handling for resources that the user wants to behave differently from this standard treatment. This is decided after each hour, so the dispatch in the hour will not change, however the price setter may impact future hours when prices are adjusted.
Valid entries of 1, 2, or 3 will invoke the logic, and any other entry (including blanks, 0s, etc.) will be ignored.

1: For a resource with this entry, Aurora will allow it to set the zonal price when running at minimum. This must be a Commitment or Must Run unit to have any effect. After each hour, the model will check the zonal price versus the cost of running this unit at minimum, and if the latter is greater it will update the zonal price to be equal to the average cost of running that unit at minimum. The unit will also be reported as the marginal resource for the zone.

Additionally, the zonal price is updated for all zones which have the same marginal resource as the zone in which this resource resides, preserving the original price differences between zones and reporting this resource as the marginal resource for all of them.

2: For a resource with this entry, Aurora will not allow it to set the zonal price at all. A check is done to see if would be the marginal resource, and if so, the next cheapest unit operating above minimum (in a zone with the same marginal unit) is selected, and the zonal prices for those zones will be based upon this selected unit. Again, all original zonal price differences are preserved.

3: For a resource with this entry, Aurora will not allow it to be reported as the marginal resource, however the prices for those zones will not change. (This option is only applicable when Calculate System-wide Marginal Resources is not selected.) This setting is useful when the database includes "proxy" resources that you do not want reported as the marginal resource.
NOTE: Reports are written to the StudyLog output when Information Messages are set to 1.
