Commitment Violation Threshold Column (optional)

Column Type = Single

The optional Commitment Violation Threshold column is used to specify a threshold on flow constraints for the region in the commitment solve.  The number entered should be a value of 1 or greater.  The column defaults to 1, and the same value should be specified for all aggregate areas in the same region.

For example, a value of 1.05 would indicate that a flow constraint is only added for the next iteration if the observed flow is at least 5% over the max flow limit or 5% under the min flow limit. Note that the limit added in that case, though, will be the original limit.

The setting for this column only affects the commitment solve (not the final dispatch) and may improve run time for the commitment solve (at the expense of some loss in precision) but could be desirable for 2nd or 3rd tier regions that aren’t the primary focus of a study.

NOTE: This column is only used with commitment optimization and when Solve Representation = Region.
