Lookahead Sampling Level
This setting provides significant speed improvement with a slight decrease in precision. It is only used when Dispatch Days in Solve > 1 when each commitment solve is determining the commitment patterns for a specific day, but hours in the next day(s) are also represented.
The Lookahead Sampling Level parameter determines which hours are represented in those forecast days.
NOTE: This setting can be different than the actual sampling precision on the Simulation Options form. For example, the settings might have every hour selected in Period/Hours, Lookahead Sampling Level = Every 3rd hour, and Dispatch days in solve = 2. This would mean that for each day the commitment was solved, it would fully represent the 24 hours of the current day, and hours 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22 of the next day. This would provide significant speed improvement over representing all 24 hours of the forecast day.
