Description: | Nodes* memberships detected with non-Nodal Transmission Detail. Phase: <value>. |
Wildcard collections such as Generator Nodes*, Battery Nodes* and Purchaser Nodes* create an object copy (i.e. a Generator) at each membered Node.
Under non-Nodal Transmission Detail, resources at different Nodes are aggregated to a Zone or Region. In capacity expansion contexts, the combination of non-Nodal detail with wildcard collections is typically unintended, as many of the copied objects are typically identical after regional/zonal aggregation. The presence of many identical copied objects results in a enhanced problem size which significantly increases memory consumption and runtime. As the objects are identical, a very large family of equivalent solutions is generated, which can result in differences in capacity expansion from run to run or machine to machine.
In most contexts wildcard collections should be combined with nodal transmission detail. If sub-nodal detail is desired, removal of the wildcard collections will generally reduce runtime and memory consumption.
Non-nodal detail with wildcard collections may make sense in some modelling contexts (perhaps contingency Reserve planning). If so, this message can be safely ignored.
