Heat Rate Scalar Column

The optional Heat Rate Scalar column provides a convenient mechanism to apply generic Heat Rate Definitions (i.e., heat rate curves) to many different resources while preserving the unique full load Heat Rate of a unit. The scalar is multiplied by the heat rates to adjust them as necessary for each resource and is useful when some diversity is needed across blocks of similar resources.
The Heat Rate Scalar is applied to all segments regardless of how heat rates are defined, i.e., it is applied to numeric values in the Heat Rate, Heat Rate At Minimum, and UBB Heat Rate columns or to Heat Rate Definition references as shown below.
For example, using the following generic heat rate curve with a Scalar of 1.25, the heat rates in the last column would be applied to the resource.

NOTE: Inputs can be specified for annual and monthly time periods. For information on how to specify a time series for a variable, see Entering a Time Series. A Scalar = 0 will completely zero out the heat rate of the unit. Use a NULL/blank or 1 if no Scalar is desired.
