The optional Prerequisite New Resource ID column is used to specify a constraint that limits a new resource option's consideration until another option (or group of options) is fully built. It uses the Overall Max value of the referenced new resource type to determine how many units must be built before any options from the record can be considered. In other words, it ensures the record's First Eligible Year occurs once a referenced option reaches its overall max.
NOTE: This constraint type is only available when using one of the MIP LT methods.
For example, in the table below the record with ID = SUN02 references a Prerequisite New Resource ID with ID = SUN01 that has an Overall Max of 10 units. For this study, no SUN02 units can be built until the year that the 10th SUN01 unit is built (note that the 10th SUN01 resource and the 1st SUN02 resource could be built in the same year).
Alternatively, a Resource Group's builds can also be used for the limit and referenced by using an rg_ prefix followed by the Resource Group ID, e.g., rg_WNDinTX. In this case the Overall Max for the resource group is decided by the lessor value of either:
the value entered in the Overall Max column in the Resource Group table, or
the sum of the values for the Overall Max columns in the Resources table for the resources assigned to the resource group.
