Shadow_Price Column

This column provides the shadow price associated with the constraint item. The value is taken directly from the constrained dispatch linear program for all non-LT constraints. In general the shadow price can be thought of as the estimated reduction in total system cost by relaxing the constraint by one unit.

For the LT Energy Min constraint, the shadow price is calculated based on the estimated uplift needed to make all units in the constraint whole (in a manner analogous to the capacity pricing logic). The calculation is based on the annual total resource value (total revenues minus total costs) for all resources that were built or kept online to meet the constraint. Note that the resource value used in the calculation may include capacity revenue.

When using the Unit Conversion input table, output units will be shown in the Quantity_Units and Currency_Units columns. Default units, in absence of the Unit Conversion input table, are $/Ton for emission constraints and $/MWh for energy constraints.
