This option specifies the precision the study will use in determining when the resource optimization process is complete.
Valid options are High, Medium, and Low. The optimization logic checks changes in the average system price (total system and all years of the study) from iteration to iteration.
High stops when the changes are less than 0.5 %
Medium stops when the changes are less than 1.0 %,
Low stops when the changes are less than 1.5 %.
Aurora also looks at other metrics to determine convergence, including the change in overall new builds and retirements. If there was a significant change to the amount of new capacity or retired capacity on the system from the previous iteration, Aurora may not converge even if the average system price differences fall within the threshold.
This setting also defines the dispatch interval for LDC energy targets. The number of dispatch intervals used each year is set as follows: 4 if using Low, 7 for Medium, and 10 for High.
