The Name column displays a dropdown list which includes all the fuels, zones, resource names, resource IDs and links defined in the database currently selected for use by the project file. This dropdown list will change based on the Record Type selected. When Record Type "Link" is selected, the dropdown for this column will populate with zone to zone concatenated names. See Record Type for more information.
In order for Aurora to reference the correct data, the Name in the Daily Change table must be unique for each Record Type. Users should verify this because these names auto-populate with names from the tables referenced (based on Record Type). For example, when “Fuel” is the selected Record Type, the name comes from the Fuel Name column (normally not required to be unique) of the Fuel table. Unless the Fuel Name in the Fuel table is made unique, the reference will not work correctly. See the table below for a list of sources based on Record Type:
Record Type |
Name (auto-populates from): |
Fuel |
|
Resource Name |
|
Resource ID |
|
Link |
Zone-to-zone links as illustrated in System Diagram (an aggregate of area-to-area links as defined in Zone Definition table) |
Input Link |
|
Demand |
Zone Name column only for zones with Run Zone column set to TRUE in the Zone Definition table |
Portfolio Demand |

Hydro |
Area Number columns of Hydro Monthly table |
NOTE: When Record Type "Input Link" is selected, the Name value is a pointer to a value in the ID (or Link ID) column of the Link table. Although either Link ID or ID are valid columns names, the dropdowns for Name will only populate if "Link ID” is used as the column name in the Link table.
NOTE: Hydro numbers selected in this field must represent a valid area number within the database.
