Fuel Table

The Fuel table provides information for fuel types and general defaults for resource assumptions. This table provides a high degree of flexibility in specifying fuel prices and other variable and fixed resource costs. The table also provides for input of real fuel escalation and monthly shaping factors.

NOTE: When opened, this table will automatically show a filtered view based on the areas, zones, or pools which are running in the study system. Automatic Filters are overridden by the User Default Quick View, or can be turned off using the Project Options in the Options window.

Other resource assumptions, such as variable O&M, are used only when the Resources table contains the input "FUEL" for the variable.

NOTE: Any Fuel Type starting with "Wat" (case insensitive) will cause a resource referenced to that fuel to be treated as a hydro resource.  Any Fuel Type starting with "Sto" or "PS" (case insensitive) will cause a resource referenced to that fuel to be treated as a storage project.  However, new resource fuel alternatives cannot be of type hydro or storage.  Any Fuel with Fuel Type of "Conservation", "DSM", or starting with "Load" (case insensitive), such as "Load Control", will cause a resource referenced to that fuel to be treated as a conservation or demand side project.

Several inputs will affect the final reported price for a given fuel.  These include the Price, Escalation, Monthly Shape Vector, and Reference Fuel columns in the Fuel table, as well as Daily Change adjustments, risk draws, and inflation.  Here is the order in which these will be applied, when applicable:
