This optional column is used to specify a maximum number of operating hours for the resource for the month. When a value between zero and the number of hours in the month is specified, the model does a pre-simulation looking at the demand of the zone in which the resource resides. It schedules to make the unit available in the highest demand hours while considering Min Up and Min Down times for commitment units. The capability will be reported as 0 for all hours that the model did not schedule the resource, and in the other hours it will be dispatched economically. This logic is particularly useful for modeling load control programs which are meant to turn on in the peak demand hours.
It is recommended to only use this logic on a small subset of resources in the system.
NOTE: If the FUEL reference is specified for this variable the value in the Fuel table will be applied.
NOTE: Inputs can be specified for annual or monthly time series. For information on how to specify a time series for a variable, see Entering a Time Series. If a zero (0) is input, the model will interpret it as a blank/null, meaning no value will be applied and the logic not used. To apply an actual value of zero (0), enter the zero through a time series reference.
