Mean Repair Time Column

Column Type = Text

The Mean Repair Time column is used to specify the mean time to repair (MTTR) a resource/branch after an outage. The Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) is input in hours, as a positive integer. This column cannot reference a time series.

This column is used to model random outages on nodal branches, very similar to the way Frequency Duration Outage Method is used for resources.  The setup must include three columns (Risk Outage, Forced Outage, and Mean Repair Time) and the switch Run General Risk Analysis must be selected in order for random outage modeling to occur.  (The Risk input table is not needed.)

When used, the simulation will calculate a mean time to fail and determine (using random sampling from exponential distributions) when the branch will be out and when it will come back online.  The effect of the random outages will be the same as if those outages were originally input in the Branch Outage table.
