Change Set Level

The following functions are available when selected from a Change Set:

  • Activate/DeactivateActivate/Deactivate

This feature activates or deactivates the selected Change Set. When active, all data associated with this Change Set is reflected automatically in the input tables as they are opened and edited. Furthermore, a run performed while the Change Set is active will apply the data to the study. The status bar at the upper right of the input tables will also indicate the current active Change Set.

If another Change Set is activated, the prior active Change Set will be automatically deactivated. Alternatively, this feature can also deactivate the currently active Change Set and return data to the underlying input database.

With a Change Set active, a base case run (started by clicking the Run button on the Home Tab Toolbar) will use the values in the active Change Set.  Refer to the Study Cases folder of Simulation Options for more information on configuring runs using Change Sets.

  • Apply Unsaved ChangesApply Unsaved Changes

This option applies unsaved changes temporarily to memory, similar to using the Apply Unsaved Changes button on the ribbon. They are not permanently saved to a project file or Change Set file (.csf) and will be deleted if the project is closed. The option will only be available when new changes are not yet saved to memory.

  • Save Change SetSave Change Set

This feature saves pending edits within an input dataset to the Change Set and writes it permanently to a project file or Change Set file (.csf). It works the same as the button of the same name on the ribbon.

NOTE: See Save Change Sets button description for additional cautions and best practices when using this option.

  • RenameRename

Use this to rename the selected Change Set.

  • Copy Change SetCopy Change Set

When a Change Set is selected, this creates a duplicate copy of the entire Change Set and automatically adds the activated Change Set to the Change Sets Main folder.

  • Delete Change SetDelete Change Set

Use this feature to delete the entire selected Change Set.

  • Revert ChangesRevert Changes

This option restores the selected Change Set to the last saved state and removes any unsaved/applied changes.

  • Change Set History

  • Filter on Change Set NameFilter on Change Set Name

This feature filters the Change Sets in view so that only the selected one is shown.

Once a filter is applied, the Clear Filter button in the ribbon above is active and the window shows what filter has been applied.  If no filter is applied, the button will be unavailable, and the window will not have any information.

Table Level

The following functions are available when selected from a table:

  • Edit TableEdit Table

This option opens the selected table for direct editing.

  • View/Edit Table DifferencesView/Edit Table Differences

Use this feature to display the differences between the data held in the underlying input database and the selected Change Set table. Select a table in the Change Set tree to activate this options. See Change Sets for more information.

  • Filter on Table NameFilter on Table Name

This feature filters the Change Sets in view so that only those with the selected table are shown.

Once a filter is applied, the Clear Filter button in the ribbon above is active and the window shows what filter has been applied. If no filter is applied, the button will be unavailable and the window will not have any information.

  • Delete TableDelete Table

Use this feature to delete all changes in the selected table.

  • Change Set History

  • Change Referenced TableChange Referenced Table

When you rename a data table, use this feature to change the table referenced by a Change Set. This applies only to same table types and the Change Set must be deactivated to access this option. Select a table in the Change Set tree to activate this option.

If a referenced table’s name has changed, the right-click menu will allow the option to change the referenced table. When Change Referenced Table is selected, you will be asked to select from available table names. Choose the correct table from the list, click OK, and the Change Set will be applied to the renamed table.

NOTE: Be sure to left-click and highlight the table name, not the Change Set name, to access this feature.
