This column defines the heat rate segment type. Allowable inputs are:
Min - defines a minimum capacity for the segment. In reporting, the Min segment will be combined with the next/first segment for segment 1. If a Min segment is not defined in this table for commitment (Non Cycling > 0) or Must Run resources, the model will default to the Resource table for the Minimum Capacity. In that case, if the Minimum Heat Rate is not specified and the heat rate Type = Average for the resource, the model will dynamically calculate the minimum capacity heat rate using a quadratic fit to the other segments.
NOTE: The segment type Min can only be used for commitment or Must Run resources. If a Min segment type is assigned to a unit that is not commitment or Must Run, the Min record will be ignored and the second segment will be applied from zero to its Cumulative Segment Size.
UBB - defines the segment as an Upper Bidding Block segment. Multiple segments can be defined as UBB.
NOTE: The segment type UBB must be defined as Type = Incremental. Also note that UBB segments will not be considered when the unit is making its commitment decision.
NOTE: When the Heat Rate Definitions table is referenced by a resource the UBB Segment Size and UBB Heat Rate, as defined in the Resources or New Resources table, will not be used. Those values should be input in this table instead.
