This option is used to apply the enhanced storage logic to all storage resources without requiring the Storage input table. When selected, all storage resources that do not have a defined Storage ID (column left blank /NULL) will have their storage unit characteristics converted into the needed values for the enhanced logic as follows:
Efficiency: will be defined as 3412/Heat Rate.
Shaping Method: If the Storage Control Type is Demand, DemandNetMR, PoolDemand, or PoolDemandNetMR then Shaping Method = Demand; otherwise it will be set to Price.
Use Net Demand: If the Storage Control Type is DemandNetMR or PoolDemandNetMR, then Use Net Demand = True. If the Storage Control Type is Price and the zone in which the storage unit resides has Use Net Demand In Preforecast = True, then Use Net Demand = True; otherwise Use Net Demand = False.
Shaping Target: If the Storage Control Type is set to PoolDemand or PoolDemandNetMR, the Shaping Target will be the entire pool in which the storage unit resides. If the unit does not participate in a pool, then the Shaping Target will be the zone in which the unit resides.
All other parameters typically defined in the Storage table will take on default values.
For more information on the traditional logic, see Energy Storage Logic.
NOTE: When using ramp rates with the Nodal Capability, the current hour’s constraints (maximum resource capability) will be based on the previous hour’s nodal output for each zonal resource that is mapped to one or more nodal generators.
